Don’t Blame the Jews

DON’T BLAME THE “JEWS” by Kamal Nawash

Another disturbing trend that is heavily propagated by extremists and accepted by many naïve Arabs and Muslims is the blaming of all Muslim problems on the “Jews.” There are numerous examples for this, but most recently, news broadcasts out of Iraq quoted Iraqi victims of violence who blamed the bombings on Jews or a Jewish conspiracy.

Many Arabs and Muslims still blame the 9/11 attacks on a Jewish conspiracy that was allegedly perpetrated to demonize Arabs and Muslims in the eyes of the world.

One of the most recent and tragic examples of unjustified hate toward Jews was the brutal murder of Daniel Pearl. Daniel Pearl was a journalist murdered by Islamic extremists in Pakistan who had never met a Jew, and the only knowledge they had about Jews was the tireless propaganda from Muslim extremists throughout the world blaming Jews for all of the world’s problems. The extremists targeted and murdered Daniel Pearl because he was a Jew.

Our research indicates that one of the modern origins of this trend is the mutual demonization by Israelis and Arabs of each other to gain global support for each other’s causes. This pattern includes the Arab media’s ceaseless reference to the falsified document, the “Protocols of Zion.” The Coalition strongly urges Muslims and Arabs to refrain from demonizing Jews and stop blaming Jews for all of the world’s problems. The Coalition also urges Israelis to stop demonizing Arabs and Muslims who peacefully advocate for the rights of Palestinians.

BRIEF APPENDIX

In the above text, Kamal makes reference to “The Protocols of Zion.” What he is referring to is a document known as “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion,” which is a fraudulent document printed in either Switzerland or Russia some time between 1897 and 1903. It claims to contain the minutes of a late 19th century meeting by Jewish leaders who sought to organize the Zionist movement in such a way as to establish world domination for the Jewish people. Since its initial publication, the “Protocols” have been translated into several languages and given wide distribution. The famous automotive distributor, Henry Ford, was responsible for its initial distribution in theUnited States via a circular known as “The International Jew.” It was alleged that the “Protocols” were created in order to distort morality in the Gentile world as well as to achieve world economic control and control of the free press by the Jewish culture.

“The Protocols,” however, were later found to be a forgery of two earlier works. The first is a fictional work by French satirist Maurice Joly entitled “Dialogue in Hell Between Machiavelli and Montesquieu,” which was written to discredit Napoleon III. The second is a chapter from the German, Hermann Goedsche’s novel, “Biarritz.” Neither of these had any connection to the Jewish community or to Zionism itself.

Despite being proven as a fraud, the “Protocols” are still widely distributed via the Internet and via various schoolroom texts being used in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere, which promote anti-Semitism among students. As previously implied, this needs to stop.
